Cancer Council Australia endorses window tinting

Recently, the Cancer Council Australia released information in support of car window tinting. Applied to the side windows, the Cancer Council states that “tinting can substantially reduce the amount of solar ultraviolet (UV) radiation transmitted into vehicles.”

Importantly, the most damaging rays are UVA and UVB. These wavelengths have the potential to increase the risk of skin cancer and are of primary concern to most sun-conscious individuals. Studies show that clear glass (without any tint) blocks up to 97% of UVB  radiation and up to 37% of UVA radiation.  Tinted glass on the other hand, blocks up to 99.77% of UVB radiation and up to 96.78% of UVA radiation; offering a superior level of protection over untinted glass.

With a UPF rating of 50+, Unique Tinting’s automotive window films deliver the highest protection available against the sun’s damaging UV rays. For more information, get in touch today.
